Choosing hosting or five tips for beginners
We don’t suffer from the lack of hosters – it’s a fact. It’s not so easy to make a decision, but I’d like to turn your attention to such important things:
1. The space volume for files. It may seem from the first sight, that 100 MB of space if very much, but only blog (files) + database (ten articles or so) “eat” already 5MB. And it’s without pictures. Of course, if you need hosting only for blog and a pair of static pages– don’t worry about space, 100 MB will be quite enough for at least a year.
The other situation is with those, who is going to launch serious projects on his hosting. It may come that 1GB is not enough for this. Though, if you make websites, that don’t weight much you can place even 100 of them there. So, think about the tasks, which you are going to solve with your hosting.
2. Database. Some important issues – the offered by hosting database type and how many database you can create. It’s all clear with type, work with what you can, (the most popular now is MySQL), but pay attention to the quantity of databases. Again, if you have one website (blog) – one database, everything is simple. But when you own 10 websites or 100… You can push them all to one database, but believe me it will not be comfortable to work with it. Think how many database you may need for your tasks. Also pay attention to the version.
3. Domains and subdomains. One more important issue. For example, if you have a website of several pages and you decided to add a blog to it. For certain you can put it to the folder blog and get something like www.example.com/blog/, but also possible is blog.example.com. To get URL like in the second example, hosting must permit to add subdomains to your domain. The situation with domains is a little more complicated and not always unambiguous. First ask if hosting permits to link up the domains registered in other companies (External Domains). Second, if it permits to refer to one website from different domains (so called Alias Domains). Third and the most interesting for those who is seriously intended to work in Internet, is the question if hosting permits to place several websites on one account (Multiple Web sites). Here’s a little explanation of the last idea. Usually, hosting companies don’t give an opportunity to place several independent websites with different addresses (domains) on one account. That’s why, choosing hosting-plan, pay attention to this option, if you are going to place several websites.
4. Scripts and additions. Determine on which language will be your site. Would it be PHP, Perl or just static pages. Define, what version of interpretators are set up there. If for the work of website you need some special additions – find out if they are set up at this hosting or if he can set them up. Usually, good hosting-companies already possess popular additions.
5. Price, payment, safety. Of course one of the key factors in choosing of hosting plan is price. Cheap hosting is not always bad. Expensive one is not always good. Determine how much you are able to pay for hosting, find appropriate companies that satisfy all needed conditions. Pay attention on the method of payment, see if you will be able to pay to this company at all. After this, write a letter to support with some question concerning the chosen plan. You may write to several companies at the same time. Pay attention to the speed of answer and it’s quality. It’s a very important thing, it induces – how easy for you will be to work with this company. Also you may visit a forum (if this company has it) and read opinions of clients.
Good luck in your choice!

When Google buy Internet and defuse tension
Look – about 90% of searching world traffic goes through Google.
Google is the best known name in the Internet now. Of course Internet is a free environment and the situation can always change, but having in his own so many portals, strengths and human stuff Google influences Internet very much.
Through hearsay that Google is planning to buy fast-speed lines of data transmission in USA and Europe. And also that Google will provide a free access to the Net under it’s OS on exchange to viewing the advertisement by users. I don’t know how much all this is true, but in this way Google can really buy the whole Internet.
Also Google owns many services on Internet and when it will buy them all, we will say on sure that Internet is bought!
Some humor on the issue:
- Say, when will Google buy Internet?
- When Microsoft will be selling it! =)))
Others say, that Google will buy Internet the next day Chelsy buys football or the day before NASA buys space =)))
Computer Human Evolution Facts
It seems to me it’s an interesting observation: how human society with help of Internet step-by-step globalizes into a one big community.
To illustrate this idea I offer you to look at the history of human society from the very beginning of it’s existence. At first, all people were united into one bug tribe. But then it has grown so much that there were problems with management – first people had only primitive understanding of management. That was in my mind the main reason that cased them to divide into smaller and smaller communities.
The later history of human shows the improving of management tools and that human communities tend to unite.
Countries try to participate in different blocks an unions, but it’s on a political and economical level.
As for social level – human communities become bigger and more tight. It’s a very huge and powerful machine – human online communities. I don’t think someone will argue that it is possible to find ways of managing and psychologically affect these communities. This is the great power.
I wonder who found this… Who prepares this great power for himself? For what reasons and purposes? I think the next revolution will be computer-based and worldwide-spread.
We all live in atom! Calculations.
Well, as I promised here are calculation that prove… in fact they don’t prove anything. Just interesting calculations =)
Some useful data from the reference books:
- Mass of the electron me = 9.109534 * 10-31
- Mass of the proton mp = 1.6726485 * 10-27
- Mass of the neutron mn = 1.6749543 * 10-27
All this is in kilograms. As the nucleus of atom consists of neutron and proton, we’ll get the mass of nucleus:
mz = mp + mn = 3.3476028 * 10-27 kg.
Now let’ see some data about solar system:
mSun = 1,99 * 1030 kg
And planets:
Mercury – 3,3 * 1023
Venus – 4,87 * 1024
Earth – 6,05 * 1024
Mars – 6,42 * 1023
Jupiter – 1,9 * 1027
Saturn – 5,68 * 1026
Uranium – 8,7 * 1025
Pluto – 1,47 * 1022
Let’s calculate the average mass o the planet. Why average? Because the mass of the electron given in a reference book is average:
mav = 2,9654 * 1026 kg
Now we can see in how many times the mass of the electron differs from the nucleus mass and in how many times the mass the average mass of the planet differs from the mass of the Sun:
A = mz / me = 3674.83 (it’s in atom)
C = msun / mav = 6710.73 (it’s in a solar system)
What conclusion can we make from the calculation? Not saying that nucleus and planets are the same, we can just say they are «almost similar», because the scales are tremendous, and a difference in ratios isn’t so large. But if we suppose that the masses of the «nucles» are the same – we obtain that planets are 2 times less than electrons.
Let’s view the diagram of masses of the planets of the solar system:
As we see from above – there are very little planets that even don’t appear at the diagram. Suppose that such little ones are present in atom as well. But yet we can’t detect them and see only electrons-giants (electrons «Jupiter», «Saturn» and so on)
Then let’s exclude the little planets mass in the calculation of the average planet mass.
We obtain:
Jupiter – 1,9 * 1027
Saturn – 5,68 * 1026
Uranium – 8,7 * 1025
mav2 = 6,6425 * 1026 kg
Then, the ratio of the mass of the sun to average planet mass is:
C2 = msun / mav2 = 2995.85
Recall, that for atom we obtained 3674.83.
We all live in atom!
I have one great idea about the structure of our universe. Well, such a global idea ;) I wouldn’t waste time to tell how I came to it (but should say that it was quite long ago), but last time I began thinking about it very often. So, look at the following.
I think that solar system (ad all of other systems in the universe) are atoms! Look at this picture:
and at this one:
Don’t they look similar? There’s a solar system on the picture above, and an atom on the picture below.
Look: in both of them orbits are elliptic, and both nucleus are much heavier than electrons/planets. The one thing that I can’t fully imagine – is value of «deepening». From solar system – a little atom.
Some of you may think: «He found a sketchy and exterior similarity». But I will answer- everything will be counted! In these days I’m going to calculate a ratio of nucleus weight to the weight of electron and the sun’s weight to weight of planets. And also – velocity of rotation, a distance from the nucleus. And will share with you these calculations.
I am very interested, and you?
Just imagine that we are a part of, for example, some little speck of dust… and in the mote of our world there are the whole universes.
See calculation।
